REVIEW... Demi Requisimo: 'Dictionary of fools' EP
Earlier this week, we were very excited to share with you the Premiere of Track 3 'Atomic' from Demi Requisimo's new EP on 10 Questions. The full EP drops today and we're such big fans of it, we thought we'd do a track-by-track review.
Before we dive into the music, we also wanted to mention the label it's coming out on, as it's brand-spanking-new and has a really nice concept around it...
Label Logo: 10 Questions
10 Questions is a new label by Dam Swindle’s Lars Dales and graphic designer Bas Koopmans. Every artist that releases on the label is given a questionnaire of... yep you guessed it... 10 Questions - and their answers impact the way the artwork is made so that the music and the art co-exist in the same creative universe. Nice right?
Anyway let's get into it...
Track 1: 'Dictionary of Fools'
The EP boots off in an undeniable fashion with this dancefloor bomb. An instant, unapologetically pumping bassline of this calibre is actually somewhat of a rarity these days and once you're eight bars in, you don't want it to stop. Layer on the female vocals and evolving synth-scape and you have yourself a home-run ladies and gentlemen. We expect to see this as the sound bed to all of this Summer's festival after-movies!
Track 2: 'Noisey Cricket'
How do you follow an absolute rocket like 'Dictionary Of Fools'? Well with an exquisite ode to 80's style italo of course. Finding just the right balance between electronic sounds and samples, Demi's on the nose with this one, combining crisp vocal chops, tight pads and even some lasers for your listening delight.
Track 3: 'Atomic'
To round off the holy trio, Demi comes with three-minute-builder, designed to get any party started. We premiered it earlier this week on our Soundcloud and... well... to be honest... you guys have already shown that you're as bigger fans of it as we are. Quality track.
