5 Minutes With... Session Victim

Hauke Freer and Matthias Reiling AKA Session Victim have an unparalleled energy and passion that translates into their renowned live performances and vinyl-only DJ sets.

Their success is workable proof that if you’re making music from a foundation of true passion and friendship, you can go against the grain, stick to your principles and still win out.

Having seen the duo perform a number of times and followed their progress over the previous years it is a great honour to have this conversation with them and get to know them a little better.

We got the low down on their recent release 'Two Crowns' on Label Delusions of Grandeur.

Check out what they had to say when we caught up with them...

1. Give us the lowdown on this release...

M: Hey everyone, this is the Two Crowns EP, our new piece of wax! It contains three tunes for your

listening pleasure which we all wrote during our extensive lockdown studio time. We moved

between friends studios and had access to very different sets of equipment which is always very

inspiring.

2. If you had to pick one, what would be your biggest career highlight to date?

M: Hey everyone, this is the Two Crowns EP, our new piece of wax! It contains three tunes for your

listening pleasure which we all wrote during our extensive lockdown studio time. We moved

between friends studios and had access to very different sets of equipment which is always very

inspiring.

3. If we were allowed to be out partying, what current records would you be playing out at every set?

4. What's coming up next for you?

M: That is the Million Dollar question, isn’t it? The only thing we can promise you at this point is

more food for your turntable.

5. If you could spend 5 minutes with anyone, who would it be and why?

M: Stephen King. He’s the GOAT.

H: Asha Putli back in 1979. So I don’t have to stare at the LP cover anymore.
